Been busy finishing some more projects but not very good at getting them posted here! Was just able to finish the 2nd SweetPea shawl for my son’s teacher in time for teacher appreciation day. Also finished a shawl for myself in time to wear it to my daughter’s 1st Communion… it was cool and rainy so it was perfect! I used Bernat Masala self-striping yarn and their pattern for a self-striping shawl. Rachel was beautiful in her dress made from my old wedding dress… the seamstress did an amazing job on it and the veil!!! I will post better pics when I have professional ones done, incl the shawl I made for her. I also made some squares for a prayer shawl for a friend of a friend on one of my message boards whose young son died from lifelong health problems related to a heart disorder. Oh, and we got a new kitten… her name is Margot!

OK, so I haven’t posted in awhile… doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing anything. In fact life has been quite busy! In my life of hooking (crochet hooking that is) I have been on a shawl kick. I first off made my DD a stole for her 1st communion coming up May 6th. I had several false starts trying different patterns then came up with the Elegant Lace Stole by Crochet bythehook which I downsized and added some ivory and white beads to so it would be even more special. I used Bernat Baby Coordinates in natural. I am having her dress made from me old wedding dress which is ivory embroidered silk. Not the traditional white 1st Communion outfit but a very special one instead.I then started a shawl for me that I am almost done with that I will post at a later date. Finally I finished just last night a Sweet Pea Shawl from The Happy Hooker book for my DD’s 2nd grade teacher for teacher appreciation day. It was made using Classic Elite Yarn Flash in coral rose. I will start one today for my DS’s Kindergarten teacher in the same yarn but the color he picked called candy stripe. My kids have had great teachers this year and I know they don’t get paid well enough for what they do and are sooooo under-appreciated! I figure this is the least I can do!So, on that note, back to work!

OK, so here is my very first piece of crocheted clothing, such that it is! My 8 yr old is delighted with it, so guess that’s good enough for me. Had debated for awhile what to make with some blue camo yarn I’d bought on her behalf (luckily she likes blue better than pink, as difficult as it is to find the pink camo) and this was a great starter project. And, since his big sister was getting her picture on “the internet”, Justin had to get in on it too! He decided after wearing the scarf I’d made him a few months ago about 2 times that he “hated” it, he was more than willing to model it while wearing his PJs so that he too could get in on all the fanfare. So, here he is too, wearing his scarf!
